Villa de Palmer
It was in 1969 that 5 men poised for a picture each gripping the symbolic shovel signifying the ground-breaking for the apartment complex that we live in today.
Back then it was called the Villa de Palmer because one of the developers was golfing great Arnold Palmer. The $2.7 million “garden apartment complex” was also developed by Dr. Wayland T. Coppedge, Jr. of Jacksonville. Demetree Builders used architect Emilio Zeller, III also from Jacksonville. At that time, the property didn’t have a Publix across the street, but instead the Hope Haven Hospital.
On August 10, 2004, the Carlton at Oak Landing Condominium Association, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Florida as a non-profit condominium association. The Association is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the common property within the development. The development consists of 153 residential units.
